World‘Very virulent’ wildfire hits Fontainebleau forest near Paris
A rapidly spreading wildfire south of Paris has burned roughly 800 hectares of the Fontainebleau forest, according to officials. France sent two firefighting aircraft as crews worked to bring the blaze under control. The fire came during an intense heatwave and a busy summer holiday weekend. It also forced partial closures of the A6 motorway, disrupting traffic on the major route.
