WorldCeuta: Spain slams ‘selfish’ EU partners

Officials say nearly all migrants who entered Spain’s enclave of Ceuta had departed by Saturday. An estimated 60,000 people crossed into the territory from neighbouring Morocco over only a few days, and at least 67 died during the attempt. Spain has unveiled plans for a 500-metre containment barrier along the sea border. At the same time, most EU countries have urged emergency discussions in a letter addressed to the bloc’s interior ministers. Spain has criticised its European partners as the crisis puts pressure on the enclave and exposes divisions over responsibility.
